Organisation and operation of school centres for compensatory education in the 2016-2017 school year

The Ministerial Decision for the organisation and operation of school centres for compensatory education as regards Auxiliary Tutoring for the 2016-2017 school year was published in the Government Gazette and the Diavgeia (transparency) website.

The action “Auxiliary Tutoring in Secondary Education for the 2016-2017 School Year” (MIS 5001952) has been incorporated in the Operational Programme “Development of Human Resources, Education and Lifelong Learning, ESPA 2014-2020”.  The wages of teachers who will be hired to teach at School Centres of Compensatory Education (SKAE) will be disbursed from the programme budget.

Participating in the Auxiliary Tutoring programme are students in all grades of junior high school who are registered in tutoring support programmes in the following courses: Modern Greek Language, Ancient Greek Language and Literature, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English.

Τhe aim of Auxiliary Tutoring is to re- induct  students in the learning process, so that their overall performance will be improved and they will succeed in completing mandatory education. It also aims at stemming the rate of dropouts and increasing the percentage of students who gain access to high school.
